Titanium is one of the hardest and most scratch-resistant materials used in jewelry - significantly more resistant to surface wear than precious metals of any karat. As the outer face of the 7501, the titanium protects the band's visual surface from the daily friction that gradually scratches gold, while the inner yellow gold layer provides the warmth and precious metal value of fine jewelry where it contacts the skin.
