Description
A heart-shaped ruby of vivid crimson red, held in yellow gold prongs above a diamond halo and pave-set shank in 14KT white gold. The two-tone combination is deliberate - the yellow gold prongs warm the ruby's color and create a rich contrast against the cool white gold frame of diamonds surrounding it. The heart outline of the halo follows the ruby's shape exactly, and diamond pave continues along both sides of the shank for continuous sparkle. The back of the setting reveals a perfectly formed heart-shaped gallery - as beautiful from the underside as from above.

Why are yellow gold prongs used on a white gold ring? Yellow gold prongs are used intentionally to warm the ruby's color - white metal can make a deeply saturated red stone appear slightly cool, while yellow gold brings out the warmth and vibrancy in the red. The result is a ruby that appears more vivid and saturated than it would in an all-white setting, while the white gold shank and diamond halo maintain the ring's contemporary cool precision.
